The Social Justice and Accountability Panel received 18 applications for scholarship in our May 2024 application period and we were able to disburse $1,000 after panel review!

We are thrilled to be able to offer these scholarships and we know that this barely touched the total requested funds of $55,000!

If you’re interested in supporting the scholarship fund, please reach out to us at socialjustice@mamft.net.

Our next application period will be in September and we hope to be able to offer scholarships to even more applicants with each round.

The Minnesota Legislature passed a mental health rate increase for the fiscal year 2025 of around $1M. The amount will increase in FY26-27 to $4M per year. While the details of how the Department of Human Services will apply these $$ to specific services have not been defined yet, the direction will be tied to national reimbursement rates for Medicare. The stated goal is to get MN rates up to 83% of Medicare rates. Stay tuned as more details become available.
