MAMFT is working hard to advocate for pay parity for relational therapy services. In order to get our pay parity bill passed, we will need legislators to dedicate enough budget to the costs of pay parity within state healthcare programs. The Minnesota Legislative Session begins January 14th with a budget deadline looming.
We are urging all members to reach out to your state legislators and ask for a significant amount of funds towards Marriage and Family Therapy rate parity in the state budget. This step is crucial in our path toward success in our pay parity advocacy work

Dear [Insert representative's name here]:
I am writing you today to urge leadership to dedicate significant funds towards rate increases/parity across the state for Marriage and Family Therapy services. As it stands, Marriage and Family Therapy (also known as couples counseling, or relational therapy) sessions are reimbursed at a lower rate than individual therapy sessions. This is creating gaps in the continuum of care for Minnesotans. Please help us in helping others. Thank you for all the work you do for our community.
