"Not Your Typical Autism Training" with Anna Trout, MA, LMFT
Presenter's Bio: Anna Trout is an autistic mental health professional. She has worked with autistic individuals in a variety of settings: school-based, ABA, community-based, and outpatient; and offering individual therapy, social skills groups, family therapy, and couple’s therapy. Anna utilizes a strengths-based and collaborative approach while utilizing a neurodiverse perspective, and putting the client first.
Workshop Description: This training will focus on autistic individuals, and how we as therapists can embrace neurodiversity. We will focus on diagnosing autism, therapeutic approaches to use with autistic clients and diversity concerns to increase our confidence in providing services to autistic clients.
1. Increase our understanding of the Autism diagnosis
2. To learn therapeutic techniques to use with autistic clients
3. To learn about diversity concerns within the Autistic community to embrace neurodiversity
