Description

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly woven into the lives of our clients and, in the process of providing mental health care, whether therapists are in agreement with these trends or not. Clients are already using AI tools to understand diagnoses, prepare for sessions, draft communication, and explore self-help strategies. Agencies and EHR systems are implementing AI-driven documentation and scheduling systems, which will continue to evolve. And therapists themselves are increasingly using AI for note drafting, psychoeducation, research, and administrative support. While these tools offer tremendous potential for improving efficiency and accessibility, they also create new ethical challenges that MFTs must be prepared to navigate.

Approval

The following boards have provided CE approval:

MN Board of Marriage and Family (approval through 3/9/2027)

MN Board of Behavioral Health (approval through 3/27/2027)

All CE activities offered by Minnesota Association of Marriage and Family is approved by the Minnesota Board of Social Work as an approved CE Provider (approval valid through July 25, 2026).

The Minnesota Board of Social Work does not pre-approve independent learning activities and does not expire. Licensees are responsible for determining whether this activity meets the Board’s CE requirements.

Providers in other mental health licenses, as well as those working outside of Minnesota, can submit CEU certificates to their corresponding boards for independent approval.

The following boards do not require pre-approved CEUs or approved CE provider approval. CEUs should be approved upon independent submission to your board:

MN Board of Education

MN Nursing Board

ND Board of Social Work

We keep attendance records of those who watched the recording as a live webinar and for those who watch the recording via on-demand.
