Workshop Title: (Webinar) Counseling Adults with ADHD

Workshop Description: 

Adults with ADHD have problems with planning organizing, time management, remembering, following through on tasks or projects and getting them done.  These problems make it very difficult to manage their lives, their work and their relationships.  This workshop will explain these neurological problems.  The presenter will also demonstrate strategies that can be effectively used to deal with the problems.  The  mistaken beliefs that were developed in childhood because of this condition and are currently interfering in their lives will also be discussed.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Participants will learn the problems that are associated with this neurological condition and how they impact work, self-management and relationships.
  • Strategies for compensating for these neurological problems will be explained.
  • Participants will learn how to help these clients compensate for the problems with strategies that are affective.
  • Participants will learn the mistaken beliefs often seen in these clients, that should be addressed in their therapy.

Presenter’s Name: Susan Brokaw, MFT and ADHD Specialist

Presenter’s Bio: Susan Pye Brokaw, LMFT is an AD/HD Specialist and has extensive training in ADHD.  She was the founder and Executive Director of Attention Deficits Support Services for nine years.  She has presented workshops and in-services regarding ADHD in Minnesota, around the United States and in Canada.  She has published five books on AD/HD: “The AD/HD Take Home Testing Manual”, The AD/HD Manual for Parents, “The AD/HD Strategies Manual for Professionals”, “The ADHD Strategies Manual for Adult sand “The AD/HD Strategies Manual for Educators”,.  She has also produced several videos on AD/HD.  Susan was a founder the Adler Graduate School and is currently Faculty Emeritus.  She has a private practice in Minnetonka, MN.
