Workshop Title: Calming and Grounding Skills for the Disregulated Client

Workshop Description: Being able to self-regulate is a skill, and one which all clients would benefit from. This workshop will focus on grounding, breathing, and visualization techniques. These can help a client decrease anxiety, dissociation, and emotional disregulation. We will start by exploring the physiology  and brain functions that lead to disregulation. After that, specific techniques for calming will be presented including but not limited to: breathwork,  the container exercise, and EFT (emotional freedom technique).

Workshop Objectives:

1) identify different types of disregulate

2) understand how the brain and physiology interact

3) learn at least 3 different techniques to help a client regulate emotions and/or thoughts
