Supervisor “Tone-Up” Clinic: A Chance to Renew/Refresh/Revitalize Your Supervision

MAMFT Members: Earn 3.0 Supervision CEUs for $30!
(Price is $60 for non-members)

Presented by: Sara Wright, PhD, LP, LMFT

Workshop Description:

This morning will offer opportunities for you to remember and reclaim what you already know about supervision, and to see your work with new eyes. Come and spend an energizing morning in a safe environment (this is a”tone-up”, not a boot camp) for learning and sharing with a highly-regarded longtime supervisor and with colleagues at all stages of their supervisory careers. The morning will combine lecture, discussion, experiential exercises (nothing scary, I promise), and with the alchemy of planning, fortune, and human presence, perhaps just a bit of magic. Designed for folks at all stages of the supervisory experience- from pre-supervisors to long-timers.

Presenter Bio:

Sara Wright, PhD, LP, LMFT is an AAMFT & MN Board of MFT approved supervisor with 40+ years of experience. She has received the “Outstanding Faculty” award from Saint Mary’s University, the Distinguished Service” and “Rosemary Dummer” awards from MAMFT, and is a Past-President of MAMFT, past-Board member of AAMFT, and past-Secretary of the MN State Board of MFT. She has no niche or specialty area, preferring to remain “a committed generalist.”

3 quotes that stay on Sara’s refrigerator:

“Without art we are but monkeys with car keys.”

“Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.”

“Be joyful, though you have considered all the facts.”

Workshop Objectives:

1) Participants will be able to more clearly articulate their evolving philosophy of supervision and how the use of particular supervision methodologies work with their philosophy of supervision.

2) Participants will gain new techniques, skills, metaphors, and exercises for use in supervision and consultation.

3) Participants will increase their skill in using an authentic supervisor-supervisee relationship for the personal and professional growth of both the supervisor and the supervisee, for the benefit of clients.
