Early-Career Event: CVs and Potluck!

We say “Curriculum Vitae!” To which you might say, “Curricul.. what?”

A Curriculum Vitae is like.. a super intense resume. Indeed.com says; “A CV (short for the Latin phrase curriculum vitae, which means “course of life”) is a detailed document highlighting your professional and academic history. CVs typically include information like work experience, achievements and awards, scholarships or grants you’ve earned, coursework, research projects and publications of your work. You may be asked to submit a CV when applying for jobs in academia or a job outside the US.” More info on CVs and Resumes here!

Certain job or graduate school applications request a CV as opposed to simply a resume. It can be useful to have both! Getting started on a CV can be a time-consuming and confusing task, so let’s get together and commiserate!

The Pre-Clinical committee invites any student, Pre-C, or recently licensed (last ~5 years) MAMFT member to this fun and useful event!

Bring your laptop, a recent resume, a list of recent presentations you’ve given, research projects or publications, recent trainings you attended, and any scholarships or awards you’ve received and we’ll help you get started on your CV.

Word of advice: The earlier in your career that you get started on this, the better. Then you just add to it each time you accomplish something noteworthy, rather than having to resurrect all of your past accomplishments after the fact.

Dr. Lucas Volini will be joining us to give us tips on what makes for a great CV, and we’ll all share a potluck while we work! We’ll have assorted N/A beverages available.

BRING: Your laptop and above listed items, and some food item to share!
